Healing Through Compassionate Therapy Services
Just a few things about me: I am a big foodie. I love to hike, play volleyball, and play board games with my kids. I listen to rainstorms and thundering when meditating in the evenings. These are a few things that highlight who I am at my core, my center. I function with the many human emotions and sometimes I express them, even in my practice.
I received my Masters in Social Work from The University of Washington. I am trained in many evidence-based theories and interventions and have chosen which ones I feel work best for my skill set. I followed the path to becoming a therapist after experiencing the impact of a gentle and compassionate presence in the dark days. Each day I try to embody that kind of presence for others. It is important work and I feel honored to help others get to the change they'd like to see in themselves.
Something I live by is: “We find beauty not in the thing itself but in the patterns of shadows, the light and the darkness, that one thing against another creates.”- Jun’ichirō Tanizaki
I would describe myself as a deeply compassionate clinician who creates care plans tailored to your goals. I will help guide you to do the work needed to meet those goals.
My clients would describe me as engaging, mindful, and non-judgmental. I have always found joy in helping others navigate emotions, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It's a journey, and we can walk it together.
I specialize in exploring trauma, abuse, and deep grief. Relationship connections and dynamics are meaningful and I find it best to explore them with a systemic lens. With the knowledge and understanding of systemic influence is where I am able provide effective support and guidance. I am a fierce advocate for marginalized communities and a particularly strong voice for LGBTQ+. If I am not the right fit for you, that is okay. We are all different and you may need a different skill set. I welcome you to reach out so that I can refer you to another provider or provide resources to help.
